Trinity Ministry of the Arts Performing Arts Summer Camp
Our experience with the Ministry of the Arts’ Artistic Director and Youth Advisor, Tom Erb, is limited to the 2009 Ministry of the Arts two-week summer camp “Newport: The Legacy”.
Blair was the Assistant Camp Director. She writes: Tom has abundant energy and genuine interest in getting the participants involved in the theatrical process. He helped to make the history of Newport fun, interesting and alive. As for his interpersonal relationships with the counselors and me, he was always approachable, sought our input and wanted us to be invested in the process, the production and the performances.
Sarah was a junior counselor. She writes: I thought Tom was the perfect man for this job because his enthusiasm and love for theatre was reflected in his relationships with the campers. He made sure that everyone stayed involved so that their creativity and talent equally contributed to the final product.
Meredith and Cary Lord, parents of Blair and Sarah, write: This was a very positive experience for our girls in terms of both their leadership roles and the overall camp dynamic. Our impression is that the program was well organized so that all of the “camp time” was structured to advance the objectives, including having fun. Tom seems to be a professional in the ability to organize and implement artistic programs for youth.
